JULIA H. ASMUS JULIA H. ASMUS (93) OF BINFORD, ND PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON MAY 8, 2013 AT THE GRIGGS COUNTY CARE CENTER UNDER THE CARE OF HOSPICE OF THE RED RIVER VALLEY. JULIA WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 8, 1919 AT THE FAMILY FARMSTEAD IN ROSENDAHL TOWNSHIP TO JOHN R. AND CLARA M. (RAMSEY) ASMUS. SHE WAS THE OLDEST OF THREE CHILDREN. JULIA ATTENDED THE ASMUS GRADE SCHOOL AND THEN WENT ON TO GRADUATE FROM COOPERSTOWN HIGH SCHOOL IN 1937. JULIA WORKED FOR SEVERAL OF THE AREA FARMERS AND CONTINUED TO LIVE ON THE FAMILY FARM UNTIL SHE AND HER MOTHER MOVED TO BINFORD IN 1978 AFTER THE DEATH OF HER FATHER. JULIA ENTERED INTO THE GRIGGS COUNTY CARE CENTER IN 2010 WHERE SHE ENJOYED DOING CROSSWORD PUZZLES, PUZZLE BOOKS, WATCHING THE BIRDS AND PARTICIPATING IN ACTIVITIES THAT WERE GOING ON IN THE CARE CENTER. SHE ALSO REALLY ENJOYED HER FRIDAY AFTERNOON POPCORN! JULIA WAS A MEMBER OF V.F.W. AUXILIARY POST #762 IN FARGO AND WAS A MEMBER OF TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, BINFORD, ND. SHE IS SURVIVED BY ONE SISTER-IN-LAW (RUTH E. ASMUS)-FARGO; FOUR NIECES: BARBARBA (ASMUS) DANIELSON-FARGO; LAURIE ASMUS-FARGO; RENAE (DENNY) COOK-ARLINGTON, WA; & SUSAN (WAYNE) ANDERSON; LYNNWOOD, WA. SHE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY ONE GREAT-NIECE-SARA (PHILIP) WIECK-FARGO; ONE GREAT NEPHEW-JARED ANDERSON-LYNNWOOD, WA; AND TWO GREAT-GREAT NEPHEWS-ANTHONY & ANDREW WIECK-FARGO. SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, A BROTHER CLIFFORD W. AND A SISTER INEZ L. JACKSON. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD SATURDAY MAY 18, 2013 AT 11:00 a.m. AT TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH; BINFORD, ND WITH BURIAL AT ZION CEMETERY, RURAL BINFORD.
