Lawrence Edward Levin Lawrence E. Levin, 78, Pillsbury, ND died Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, ND. Lawrence Edward Levin was born on Sept 2, 1934 in Pillsbury, North Dakota to Edward and Selma Levin. Raised on the family farm, he attended Pillsbury School. Lawrence served in the US Navy from 1952-1956. Upon his return, he spent his life farming small grains, haying, raising cattle, and children on that same farm. He met and married Kathryn in June of 1970 and became the father of 5 small children. In 1972 Lawrence and Kathryn were blessed with a son, Edward. Lawrence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, reading. His favorite books were those of the Old West. He was a member of American Legion Post 18. He served on the Hope Fire Dept. and the Ellsbury Township Fire Board. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, 6 children: Barbara Jacobs(James), David McBeain (Jackie), Christine Tomky (Bill), Karen Flaagen (Chester), Daniel McBeain (Janell), Edward Levin (Linda), 28 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 5 sisters: Marilyn Moore (Cal), Janice Fuller (Jack), Robert Levin (Alice), Sue Carol Olson (Ron), Charles Levin (Evelyn), Rita Gray (Roy), Nancy Stewart (Brent), brother-in-law Mike McIntosh, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Selma (Lee) Levin, and 5 sisters: triplets, Edith, and Doris McIntosh. A Memorial Service will be held, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Hope Legion Hall, Hope, ND. There will be a Family Mass held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 7:00 pm in St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Hope, ND.
