OLIVER ANDERSON Oliver Anderson, 91 of Cooperstown, died Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota. Oliver Wayne Anderson was born November 13, 1922 to Lars and Neva (LaPlant) Anderson in Pilot Mound Township, Binford, ND. He graduated from the 8th grade at Pilot Mound #1 School, then left school in 1936 to farm with his father. On November 17, 1945, Oliver married Joyce Anderson of Aneta. He entered the Army Air Forces Training Command in November 1945 and completed training for Medical Corpsman and Military Administration before his honorable discharge in December 1946. Oliver was a member of American Legion Post 143 of Cooperstown. Along with farming, Oliver and Joyce owned the Anderson Greenery and Hallmark Store for 23 years and were active in the Cooperstown business community until their retirement in 1999. They were members of West Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Binford. In April 2010, they moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota. Oliver is survived by Julie (Scott) Ferry, Lakota, ND, Rick (Lori) Anderson, West Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren Shawn (Sarah) Ferry, Christy (Tim) Ronningen, Morgan (Justin) Rheault and Madison Anderson and her boyfriend Jake Kunz; 6 great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Mason, Mylehe, Lakin, Keaten and Easton; sister Loretta Satrom, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, brother Raymond, sister Carol, infant siblings and brother-in-law Paul Satrom. Funeral services will be Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the West Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, rural Binford, ND in the spring.
