MARCELLA THERKELSEN Marcella Therkelsen, 82, Cooperstown, ND, died Monday, June 30, 2014 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. Marcella Mae was born February 18, 1932 in Carrington, ND the daughter of Edward and Fern (Harrington) Willows. She grew up and attended school in Glenfield, ND. She married Richard Therkelsen August 13, 1951 in Cooperstown, ND. The couple made their home in Cooperstown, where they raised their 6 children and she worked at the Coachman, Oasis, Sons of Norway and Andy’s Cafe. Richard passed away March 29, 1977. Marcie continued to make her home in Cooperstown. Marcie enjoyed playing cards, bowling, doing embroidery, putting puzzles together, listening to Polka Party and Lawrence Welk. She is survived by; sons, Eugene, Cooperstown, ND, Ron (Pam), Aberdeen, SD; daughters, Alice (Myron) Flaagan, Fargo, ND, Janice Therkelsen, Cooperstown, ND, Jeanette (Dean) Myers, Cooperstown, ND; eight grandchildren, Shelly Flaagan, Jason (Wendy) Therkelsen, Colleen (Kevin) Elsen, Thomas Therkelsen, Randy (Missy) Myers; eight great grandchildren, Tevin Flaagan, Chase Therkelsen, Toby Whelan, Shawn Hepola, Noah Therkelsen, Isaac Therkelsen, Maezy and Ella Myers; sister-in-law, Elaine Willows, Williston, ND. Marcie was preceded in death by, her parents; husband, Richard; brothers, Marvin, Butch, Raymond; sisters, Mary and Millie and son, Gary. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Monday, July 7, 2014 from 4:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Chapel. A Prayer Service will be, Monday at 7:00 in the Chapel. Interment will be at 12:15 in the Hero Cemetery, rural Cooperstown, ND.
