MADELYN J. MIDSTOKKE Madelyn J. Midstokke, 90, Finley, ND died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. Madelyn J. Bohnet was born February 17, 1926 in Kulm, ND the daughter of Reinhold and Justina (Geinhart) Bohnet. She grew up and attended school in Kulm and graduated from Kulm High School in 1946. She attended The New York Beauty School in Fargo and then worked in Jamestown for two years. She married Miles Midstokke October 30, 1949 in Kulm, ND. The couple made their home in Finley, ND, where she was a cook at the school. Miles died July 13, 2006. Madelyn continued to make her home in Finley until she became a resident of the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Madelyn enjoyed gardening, playing card, family time and Sioux Hockey, she was a member of the Finley Lutheran Church and a life member of the Finley American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her children: Kevin (Jenny) Midstokke, Bismarck, ND, Vicki (David) Ihry, Fargo, ND, Scott (Bernice) Midstokke, Michigan, ND; grandchildren, Steve Midstokke, Tessa (Pete) Kriegler, Mikal (Kara) Ihry, Matthew Ihry, Ryne (Debbi) Midstokke, Tyler Midstokke; step grandchildren, Brittany (Nick) Bye, Clinton Herrmann, Katie (Jason Barta) Herrmann; great grandchildren, Luke and Henry Kriegler, Isabelle Ihry; step great grandchildren, Brielle and Connor Bye. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Lee and twin sister, Marilyn; brother-in-law Palmer Vareberg and sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Elaine Bohnet. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Finley Lutheran Church in Finley, ND. Visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2016 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Finley Lutheran Church, Finley, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Monday at 7:00 pm in the Church. Interment will be in the Finley Cemetery, Finley, ND. The family would like to thank Luther Memorial Home and Hospice of the Red River the excellent care given to Madelyn.
