DAVID BILL EVANS

DAVID BILL EVANS David Bill Evans, 83, Cooperstown, ND passed away, Monday, October 24, 2016 in the Community Living Center in the North Dakota Veterans Hospital, Fargo, ND under the care of Hospice. Bill was born September 16, 1933 in Cirtsville, WV the son of William and Dilla (Lester) Evans. In 1952 he joined the US Air Force and served in Finley, ND and Germany during the Korean Conflict. He married Ruth Fredrickson May 6, 1956 in Binford, ND. Bill attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, ND. Upon graduation he worked as a mechanic for Adam Chevrolet, Bednar Motors and Burke Implement all in Cooperstown. In September 1970 he began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a Gandy Dancer, retiring in 1987. Bill enjoyed woodworking, reading and gardening. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Gordon- Lindgren American Legion Post #143, VFW Post #3379 and the Cooperstown Golden Age Club. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to Bill and he treasured each time we could get together. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, Cooperstown, ND; son, Wayne (Kay) Evans, Carrington, ND; daughters, Wendy (Ron) Berland, Moorhead, MN, Debi (Kevin) Selby, Bismarck, ND; Kim (Nathan) Rorvig, Fargo, ND; Wayne’s children, Shana (Tom) Brummer, their children, Shanleigh & Warrick; Tiffany Evans, her children, Kenna & Braxton; Jessica (Waylon) Zieman, their children, Kanin & Korbyn; Samantha Evans; Wendy’s children, Luke (Erica) Hendrickson, their child, Lacey; Sarah (Parker) VanderWal their children, Kolby, Brody, Lilly, Rubey; Andy (Amanda) Hendrickson, Fiona, Gemma and one on the way; Aaron Berland, Amy Berland, April (Brandon) Anderson, their children Lydia and Logan; Debi’s children, Janae (Ryan) Geiger, Lindsey (Andrew) Robinson, their children Braylon, Everly, Easton; Kim’s children, Heather (Bobby) Livdahl, their children, MaKiah, Sebastian, Hunter; Mara Rorvig, fiancée Anthony Sommerfeld; Katina Rorvig; sisters, Betty Ayers, NC, Juanita Blankenbeckler, WV and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be Saturday October 29, 2016 from 9:30 till 11:00 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND, followed by a Funeral service at 11:00 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. Interment will be in the Trinity Cemetery, Binford, ND at 1:30 Saturday.
