ARLEN ROTHERT Arlen Walter Rothert, age 78, of Cooperstown, ND passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Cooperstown Medical Center. Arlen was born on April 4, 1938 to Walter C and J Josephine (Tang) Rothert in rural Cooperstown, ND. He was baptized June 19, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND and confirmed April 5, 1953 at Grace Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. Arlen graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1956. On October 10, 1970 Arlen married Donna (Motl) in Mandan, ND; they just celebrated 46 years together. Arlen loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed farming, traveling, playing cards and visiting with neighbors and friends. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and an officer on the Clearfield Township Board. Arlen is survived by his wife Donna, Cooperstown, ND; daughter Lori (Brian) Zengler, Harris, MN; son James Rothert (Dawn Crowe), West Fargo, ND; grandchildren Thaden and Zander Zengler, Harris, MN; sister Joanne (Larry) White, Cooperstown, ND; sister Jolene (Loren) Bell, Polk City, IA; brother-in-law David (Ellie) Motl, Mandan, ND, and 5 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held, 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be sent to the Griggs County Library, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or the charity of your choice.
