OLIVE J. ZERFACE Olive Jeanette Langager Zerface, born December 26, 1928 in Hope, ND, died Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND at the age of 88. Her parents were Sven and Ada (Lambert) Langager. She had nine siblings: Ellen, Doris, Jim, Ruth, Essie, Marion, Phyllis, Dick, and Joe. Olive was the last one to be born, the last one to pass. She graduated from Hope High School in 1946. She attended Valley City Teachers College for six weeks. One of her friends Pat always called them “the six week wonders”. She spent her teaching career at country schools, living with the Andy Knight family and Mrs. Andrew Knight recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She met her husband at a dance at the Hope White Elephant. Olive and Lester were married June 16th, 1949 in the Hope Methodist Church. She was involved in Homemakers Club, Hope Legion Auxiliary, United Methodist Church Circles, Birthday Club, and Whist Club. She grew large vegetable gardens, loved her flowers and the birds that surrounded them. Olive is survived by her children: Pastor Peg Zerface, Hope, ND, Harold (Becky) Zerface, Hope, ND, Keith (Jan) Zerface, Valley City, ND, Curtis (Julie) Zerface, Hillsboro, ND and Rodney (Vanessa) Zerface, Fargo, ND. Her grandchildren: Travis (Taasha) Zerface, Kyle(Angie) Zerface, Karra (Kyle) Scherweit, Nathan Zerface, Megan Zerface, Brian Zerface, Derek Zerface, Marianna Zerface, and Isaiah Zerface. Great grandchildren: Tran, Tiara, Tate, Owen, Raegen, Hudson, Norah, and Nolan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 till 2:00 pm in the Elim Care Center, 3534 S. University Dr. Fargo, ND followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Hope Cemetery, Hope, ND in the spring.
