OLGA GAWRONSKI

OLGA GAWRONSKI Olga Gawronski, 99, Cooperstown, ND and formerly of Staten Island, NY and Spring Hill, FL, died Saturday April 15, 2017 in the Griggs County Care Center. Olga was born July 2, 1917 in New York, New York, the daughter of Anthony and Eudokia (Jarenska) Czwartasky. She grew up and attended school on Staten Island, where she graduated from Port Richmond High School. She attended St. Vincent’s Medical School of Nursing on Staten Island, where she received her registered nursing degree in 1938. She worked at Willowbrook State School of Staten Island as Nursing Supervisor. She also worked at the Marine Hospital on Staten Island during WWII. She married Stanley Gawronski in 1941 on Staten Island. She continued to work in various hospitals while following her husband during the war. Stanley passed away in 1981. She retired the same year, making her home on Staten Island. She later moved to Spring Hill FL, and to Cooperstown, ND in 2003. Olga enjoyed gardening, following the Yankees, and taking vacations. Olga is survived by two sons; Donald (Frances) Gawronski, Thousand Oaks, CA and Thomas (Kathy) Gawronski, Cooperstown,ND; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley, son Robert, brother Walter, and sister Anna Mojecki. The family would like to thank the staff of the Cooperstown Medical Center and the Griggs County Care Center for their compassionate care of Olga. You are much appreciated! A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm in St. George Catholic Church, Cooperstown, ND.
