MAYNARD J. HAUGEN Maynard J. Haugen, 89 of Hannaford, ND passed way August 2, 2010 in Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Maynard was born August 8, 1020 in Greenview Twsp. Griggs Co., ND (near Hannaford, ND) the son of Magnus and Malena (Lee) Haugen. He attended country school in there. He served in the US Air Force from 1942 to 1946 as a baker. Upon military discharge he returned home to work on the family farm with his fathers until his death. He married Margaret Grage June 12, 1956 in Hillsboro, ND. To this union three sons where born. The couple farmed in the Hannaford area their entire married life. Maynard served many years on the Union Lutheran Church council where he was a lifetime member. Other boards Maynard served on included C.N.D.S. TR at New Rockford, ND, Griggs & Nelson Mutual Ins., Karnak Grain, lifetime member of the Mervin J. Armstrong American Legion Post # 113, William A. Armstrong VFW Post #3379. For a number of years he played guitar with the “Neighbors”. Maynard is survived by his of 54 years Margaret of Hannaford, ND; two sons, Mark (Vicki) Haugen, Hannaford, ND, Steven, Wahpeton, ND; two sisters, Hazel Hobert, Sun City, CA, Lorraine Hagelstrom, Cooperstown, ND, five grandchildren, Lindsey, Magen, and Trevor Haugen, Jacob and Justin Ruediger. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son John; and infant daughter; two brothers, Ingvard Haugen, Gordon Gullickson; and a sister Inez Stockeland . Blessed be the memory of a kind, loving and generous man. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10:30 am in the Union Lutheran Church, rural Hannaford, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Church and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Church. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, rural Hannaford, ND.
