Edna Wojcik

EDNA WOJCIK Edna Wojcik, 94, of Evergreen CO, died August 31, 2010 at the Life Care Center in Evergreen. Edna Evelyn Kopperud was born July 18, 1916 near Hawley, MN the daughter of Oscar and Ellen (Johnson) Kopperud. She grew up and attended school in the Cooperstown area. She married Lester Wojcik in 1939, the couple made their home in Jamestown until Lester’s death in1963. She eventually moved to Warrensburg, MO to be near her daughter Donna. Because of her daughter’s job with civil service she had the opportunity to travel to France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. Edna often said that traveling was the highlight of her life. Edna enjoyed reading, music, flowers and watching birds. She is survived by two sons; Richard (Betty) Wojcik, Forsyth, MT, Jim (Janna) Wojcik, Denver, CO; two daughter, Joanne Soulis, Jamestown, ND, Donna (Monte) Nelson, Warrensburg, MO; three sisters, Arlene Sorvik, Gladys Ostenson both of Fargo, ND, Vivian Wuflestad, Cooperstown, ND; one brother, Robert Kopperud, Oveido, FL; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lester; sister, Anne; brother Ernie and grandson Jeff. A Graveside service will be Friday, September 10, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
