Blanche Marie Moore
Blanche Marie (Vasfaret) Moore passed away on October 23, 2025 at the HIA, Heather’s House in Fargo. Blanche was born to Martin and Bernice (Larson) Vasfaret on July 20, 1938 in Cooperstown, ND. She was the youngest of 6 children.
Blanche spent her younger years in Cooperstown, ND. Graduating from Cooperstown HS in 1957. Blanche became the pen pal of Robert (Bob) Moore while he was serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Later, they got married on July 9, 1957. They welcomed seven children over the years. They made their home in many places throughout ND, finally settling in Hope, ND. The family joke is that they had a new baby with each new place and after seven, Mom was happy to settle in one place.
Blanche received her sacraments at Ness Church; and was a member of ST. Petri Lutheran Church 1961-2000. Redeemer Lutheran 2005-present. One of Mom’s fondest memories is of the Handy Homemakers, of which she was a founding member. Mom was proud of the many service projects that they accomplished over the 51 years they were in existence. We kids loved the month Mom was the hostess, as we got the leftover butter mints.
Blanche had several hobbies, sewing clothes for her family, she made close to 100 quilts, playing cards at home and with the ladies at the Senior Center, baking goodies, embroidering, reading and putting puzzles together. She held many offices in various organization and worked at Mic’s grocery for 20 years.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lyle Moore, parents; Martin and Bernice Vasfaret, two grandchildren, siblings and spouses; Harold “Bunty” Vasfaret, Ione (Ernest) Mauch, Milo (Shirley) Vasfaret, Mavis (Royce) Nelson, Vernon (Leona) Vasfaret. Brother and sister-in-law Wesley and Dorothy Moore. Nephews Jeff Moore, William ”Keven, Bill” Moore, Terry Moore, John Nelson, Allen Vasfaret, Eric Mauch, Marvin Mauch, Harlan Mauch, Evan Mauch and Neil Mauch. Niece Christine Vasfaret. Great Nephew Brandon Sola. Step great grandson Zachary Sveund.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm in the Redeemer Lutheran Church, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Church. Interment will be in the Pickert Cemetery, Pickert, ND.
