C. BYRON PEDERSEN

Charles (Byron) Pedersen, 91, Luverne, North Dakota passed away December 17, 2021 at Sanford Health, Fargo.

Byron Pedersen was born on November 26, 1930, the son of Charles and Alma (Kohls) Pedersen in Fargo, North Dakota.  He grew up and attended school in Luverne, North Dakota, graduating from Luverne High School in 1948.

Byron was united in marriage to Swanhild Benson on July 21, 1956 in Valley City, ND.  Byron and Swanhild made their home on a farm near Luverne, North Dakota, where he was engaged in farming until retiring.

He was an avid hiker while wintering in Arizona, hiking in the Superstition Mountains, the Grand Canyon and many other interesting areas.  Byron also enjoyed carving characters, animals, eagles and other objects.  He also enjoyed gardening and photography. 

Byron was a Township Supervisor for several years, served on the church council and served on the Luverne Elevator board.

Byron is survived by his wife, Swanhild Pedersen, Luverne, ND; one Son; Scott Pedersen, Luverne, ND; one Daughter; Amy Jorgenson, Wahpeton, ND; one Granddaughter; Emma Jorgenson, Fargo; Great Granddaughter McKenna; Sister in laws; Evelyn Pedersen, Luverne, ND, Eva (Kenneth)Jefferson, Fargo, ND; Nieces Julie Pedersen and Molly McCullough; Nephews Mark Pedersen and Ryan McCullough. 

He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brother.

A private Family service will be held at a later date with interment at Westly Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
