CAROL MILLER

Carol Elaine (Briss) Miller, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.  After having a successful heart surgery in the weeks prior, she suffered a complication that caused her to be taken away suddenly.  Carol was a resident of Cooperstown, ND and was very involved in church activities and was so thankful for the wonderful friends she had in the area.

Carol was born on April 18th, 1947 to Clarence and Ella (Walen) Briss on a farmstead in Griggs County. She attended high school in Binford and married the love of her life Manley Miller on June 18, 1965 at Binford.

Manley and Carol eventually moved to a farm near Binford where Manley farmed and raised cattle. Carol delivered lots of lunches and made meals for the men during those years of farming.  Carol enjoyed going to work with a local potato harvesting company and also enjoyed working at the Robert Brua Bee farm in McVille for a short time.

Manley and Carol moved from the farm to Cooperstown in 2001. Carol enjoyed working at the Nelson County Health System Care Center in McVille as a Dietary Aide for many years before retiring. She enjoyed family and life in Cooperstown. She enjoyed coffee morning at the Coachman with the ladies, going on walks with her dog Abby and her friends. She also enjoyed decorating her yard with flowers, angels and butterflies!!

Carol’s faith and fellowship with the Zion Lutheran Church in Cooperstown was a big part of her retired years. She enjoyed 3 different bible studies besides church every Sunday.  She always had her radio tuned in to the beautiful music of Heaven 88.7 and was so loved and taken care of by the community!

Carol is survived and deeply missed by her daughter, Laura (Bryan) Ohlhauser; 4 grandchildren - Amber, Justin, Adam & Jessica; 2 great grandchildren - Jenna & Jayce; 1 sister - Avis (Orville) Pittenger; 2 sisters-in-law - Elaine (Loren) Briss and Renae (Don) Briss.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Manley; her son Brian; 4 brothers - Loren, Don, Fred, & Marvin; nephew - Kaare Briss; and her parents -Clarence and Ella (Walen) Briss.

Carol also leaves behind many nieces & nephews that she thought of often!
