Darlene was born May 22, 1930 in rural McHenry, ND the daughter of August and Clara (Leininger) Rahlf.  She grew up and attended school in rural Binford, ND.  She attended college in Mayville, ND, then taught school for 3 years at the age of 18.  In 1948, she met her guy, Roger Dahl.  They were married August 29, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND.

The couple lived in Oregon and Washington, moving to where Roger had construction jobs.  Their four eldest were born there and Darlene was a stay at home Mom.  They returned to ND in 1959 where they lived on the family dairy farm near Hannaford, ND and raised their seven children, for the 61 years they were married.

Darlene was a servant of the Lord, raising her family with a Christian upbringing.  She was a member of the LWML and Homemakers.  She loved her family and took great joy in raising her children and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.  She loved the outdoors, her gardening and flowers.  She also loved dancing with her husband.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn, Dahl; Judith Rolle; and Thomas (Karla) Dahl, Fargo, ND; Deanna (Eddie Glur) Dahl, Buffalo, MN; Susan (Frank) Martinez, Glendale, AZ; Mary (Marty) Briss Alice, ND and Beth (Maverick) Hampton, Ocala, FL; fifteen grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, two brothers, Theodore (Donna) Rahlf , Rochester, MN and August (Delores) Rahlf, Sutton, ND; sister-in-law, Gail Rahlf and brother-in-law, Eldon (Cokey) Conant.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, parents, August and Clara Rahlf; sisters, Betty Saunders and Clara Jo Conant; brother, Paul Rahlf and granddaughter, Chyavana Hampton.

A Private Family services will be held at a later date.

Service will be lived stream if signal strength is strong enough.
