DENNIS MYERS
Dennis Myers, 70, Valley City, ND passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in Mercy Hospital, Valley City, ND.
Dennis was born to Marvin and Lillian (Gustafson) Myers on May 29, 1955, in Cooperstown, ND. He would graduate from Cooperstown High School in 1973. After high school he would continue his educational pursues and enroll at NDSCS were he would obtain an associates degree in 1975. After graduating college, Dennis, ventured his way up to Valley City, ND, where he would start working at the Prairie Inn. He would end up being a main fixture at the Prairie Inn for over 20+ years. After working over at the Prairie Inn, he transitioned into a new career with the Open Door Center. Dennis would end up working for the Open Door Center for roughly 25 years until his retirement on July 1, 2025. Dennis also a very recognizable figure at Dakota Silver, where he would work for 15 years.
Dennis was the epitome of working hard and having a very strong work ethic. Whether at the Open Door Center or at Dakota Silver you would see Dennis tirelessly working away but once the job was done Dennis would be seen taking a sip out of one of his signature Diet Cokes or nibbling on one of his Milky Ways. Those that also knew Dennis, know that he also had a tremendous sense of humor. Even though he worked hard, he always found time to have a laugh with those around him. During his down time, one could find Dennis cruising the streets of Valley City, listening to either Elvis or Patsy Cline Radio with his furball companion, Jackson. Dennis was also extremely unselfish by nature. He worked hard to make sure that the ones he cared for would be taken care of. Dennis was a tremendous provider, husband, father, and grandfather. His presence will truly be missed by many but his spirit will continue to live on in our minds and hearts, forever.
Dennis leaves behind his three children Mindy Anderson (Greg) of Fargo, ND, Brandon Myers of Valley City, ND, and Preston Myers of Jamestown, ND. He also leaves to cherish his memory two grandchildren: Braeden Greer of Jamestown ND, and Ashlyn Greer of West Fargo, ND. He also leaves behind a brother Dean (Jeanette) Myers of Cooperstown, ND, and a sister Susan (Bradley) Rorvig. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lillian Myers, Wallace and Hazel Myers, Ole and Anna Gustafson (grandparents), Henry and Helmer Gustafson, Robert and Calvin Myers, Dennis Gunderson, and Obert Tharldson (uncles), Margaret Tharldson, Jeanette Johnson, Anna Splittstoesser, Gerd Myers, Alice Myers (aunts).
Funeral Services will be, Friday, December 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND, visitation will be one hour before services in the Church. Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery.
