DONALD L. DAHL

Donald Lee Dahl, 81 of Cooperstown, ND passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 29, 2025 under Hospice Care.

Donald was born in Sharon, ND on June 22, 1944 to Selmer and Gladys Dahl. He and his twin brother Dennis were baptized on August 24, 1944 at the Romness Methodist Church in Griggs County, ND. Donald, “Duck” graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1962. He was a proud Eagle Scout and later a boy scout master. He attended college at Wahpeton State School of Science. Then he came home to farm with his dad in 1965. He married Penelope Rondestvedt on July 29, 1967 and together they raised 4 children. Donnie was an active member of involved organizations including the Jaycees, Griggs County Historical Society, Cooperstown Farmer’s Elevator, and the Romness township where he lived. He loved history of the land and making connections with genealogy and sharing and collecting family data. He was a Model A enthusiast as he restored his 1931 Ford Model A Roadster Deluxe. He enjoyed farming and hunting and gathering at the shack. He was innovative and made things organized and creative. Donnie also had fun bowling, golfing, traveling, socializing and spending time with family and friends.

Donald is survived by his children Terresa (Michael) Davis of Wimbledon, ND and her children Cole, Zane & Sydne; Darin Dahl of Cooperstown, ND; and Farrah (Scott) Saxberg of Cooperstown, ND and their children Kayce, Dana & Leah. Great-grandchildren are Nevaeh, Waylon, Watson, Norah, Fynn & Briggs, twin brother Dennis (Marlene) Dahl, Lincoln, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents Selmer & Gladys, sister Marloe Ann, brother Norman Dahl, his wife Penny, son Tohn Dahl, and granddaughter Tanna Koppang.

Visitation will be Monday, October 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Romness Cemetery, rural Cooperstown, ND at 4:00 pm.
