DORIS BAKKE

Doris Bakke (96) Binford, ND passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND.

Doris Christine Anderson was born June 10, 1926 in Steele County, ND, the daughter of James and Cora (McCahan) Anderson.  She graduated from Hope High School, Hope, ND in 1944.

She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She began working at the Binford Hotel cooking and cleaning.  She worked under 4 different owners of the Binford Locker plant until her retirement.  Doris did not stop working after she retired.  She continued at the potato  warehouse and she enjoyed using her gardening skills at Highway 200 greenhouse.  She did not let the “grass grow” under her feet.  She gave time to the community; caring for the park, helping at the Senior Center and working under the Green Thumb program at the NU 2 U thrift store until after the age of 90.  She was gifted with many talents, rug maker, crafter, gardener, baker and painter.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Doris will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Karen (Gary) Ramsey, Binford, ND and Debbie (Jerome) Painter, Mayville, ND; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bakke, Binford, ND; eight grandchildren, Doug Bakke, Scott Bakke, Matthew Bakke, Melonie (Ramsey) Tessier, Benjie Ramsey, Aaron Ramsey, Ashley Paintner and Caren Paintner.  3 great-grandsons, Jordan Provencio, Luke Ramsey and Owen Ramsey, 5 great-granddaughters, Eva Rose Starke, Elise Bakke, Amy Ramsey, Isabella Tessier and Heidi Ramsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two son, James Bakke and Stephen Bakke, two sisters, Betty Lou Anderson and Dorothy Bakke.

A Memorial service will be held for Doris Saturday, July 22 at 10:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Binford, ND.
