Gail Janice (Bakke) Rahlf, formerly from Sutton, ND, age 83, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of family, faith, hard work, and love.
Gail was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on July 15, 1943, to Roger and Ida(Christopher) Bakke. She grew up on the family farm South of Emerado, North Dakota, where she learned the values of hard work, family, and country living. She attended Fairfield Country School District 82 North, completing grades 1 through 8, and graduated from Larimore High School in 1961. She later attended Mayville State College.
Gail married Paul Rahlf, and together they built a life as dairy farmers near Sutton, North Dakota. Gail was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She was especially known for her homemade bread and delicious caramel rolls, which brought warmth and joy to many family gatherings.
Gail will be lovingly remembered by her son, Chris (Rodelyn) Rahlf of Fargo, ND, and her beloved grandchildren, Paul, Henry, and Hazel. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen (Mike) Smith of Monticello, MN, and Lana Kaufman of Casselton, ND, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Rahlf; her daughter April her parents, Roger and Ida(Christopher) Bakke; and her sister, Kay Kvasager.
Gail's gentle spirit, warm smile, loving heart, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed. Her memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched.

Visitation will be Friday, August 14, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
