GARY M STORDAHL

Gary Mons Stordahl, 82, passed away on July 13th, 2026, in Grand Forks, ND. He was born in Sharon, ND on January 14th,1942 to Mons and Clara Stordahl and raised in Hope, ND.

Gary joined the Navy after high school serving during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he attended and graduated from Minnesota State Community and Technical College. He married Nancy and together they started a family in Fargo, ND, before relocating to Mayville, ND in 1974 to start his business Gary’s AV/TV. They would later move home and business to Portland, ND to a bigger shop where they could live next door to his beloved mother. He went to work at Mayville State University in 2003 and finally “retired” at the end of 2025. Gary was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Family was incredibly important, he was so proud to be a loving son, father, grandpa, uncle and most recently a great grandpa. Gary enjoyed many things throughout his life and never slowed down, always adapting to the changing times.

Gary is survived by his children, Gail Stordahl (Mathew Stuver), Gwyn Wright, Nathan Stordahl (Kim), and Gina Stordahl (Nathan Brown), his nephew Burkley, grandchildren Christopher, Lindsay, Olive, Kimi, Justin, Eliza, James, Cameron and Katrina and great grandchildren Simber, Evryn, Blair, Karmen, Manning and Alexis He was preceded in death by beloved parents, brother Norman and his wife Carol, nephew Curtis as well as countless aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24th at Baker Funeral Home, 38 1st Ave NW, Mayville, ND from 5:00-7:00 PM followed on Saturday, July 25th by visitation at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 2814 Cherry St, Grand Forks, ND from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM with Funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM at the Finley Cemetery, just south of Finley ND off Highway 32/Highway 200.
