Larry passed away Sunday morning, July 3rd at the Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City, ND, under the care of Hospice. He lost his battle with cancer which he fought for 8 years.

He was born on April 14th, 1949 to Johnny and Alvina (Peterson) Ott, rural Cooperstown, ND. He attended Clearfield Township school through 5th grade and then attended and graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1967.

Larry went on to graduate from Wapheton State School of Science majoring in Business and Accounting and then transferred his credits to attend NDSU to continue his education.

Larry was confirmed and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford.

Farming was his life and he continued to do so up until last year. He said he always felt better when he was sitting in the tractor, despite his illness.He loved listening to music, especially old time rock and roll. After his diagnosis, he developed an interest in photography. When he was younger, he enjoyed downhill skiing and was also on a bowling league. 

He is survived by his sisters Elaine Smith, Cooperstown, ND; Janice Fevold, Lonsdale, MN and Linda Tangen, Fargo, ND. Nieces and nephews include: Janel (Dave) Sayler, Breckenridge, MN; Rollie (Janet) Smith, Gilbert, AZ; Lori (Curt), Farmington, MN; Garrett (Mary), Granite Bay, CA; Rob (Sherry) Smith, Cooperstown, ND; Teresa (Marc), Apple Valley, MN, James Fevold, Lonsdale, MN; Max (Tiffany) Tangen, Northwood, ND; T.J. (Courtney) Tangen, rural Hatton, ND along with several grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rodney and brothers-in-law Jerry Smith and Todd Tangen.

There will be a private celebration of life at a later date
