MILDRED H. LURA
Millie Hagle Lura, 86, Cooperstown, ND passed Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Dakota Regional Medical Center, Cooperstown, ND with her beloved husband, Bob and forever friend, Gina Miller, at her side, under the care of hospice.
Millie (Hagle) Lura was born September 22, 1938 to Henry and (Anne Overby) Hagle of Binford, ND. Millie grew up in Binford and attended Binford Public School, where she made many lifelong friends and graduated in 1956. She married Robert Lura in Binford at Trinity Lutheran Church on April 10, 1959. They made their home at the Lura family farmstead north of Cooperstown. Millie continued to work at Knapp Grocery Store in Binford and Robert was farming at the time.
In 1963, Bob and Millie became parents of a little girl, Sheila. She is the love of their lives. They moved to Cooperstown in 1967. Sheila grew up to be a very talented musician. Bob and Millie supported her and her musical friends, Kathy Soma, Julie Mrozla, and Jan Zimprich. They traveled with the band on the weekends to several area towns and supported the (Black Velvet) group for many years.
Bob and Millie's nephew, Daryl Hagle, son of George Hagle, lived with them for about four years. He passed away in a tragic car accident.
Millie enjoyed working with the public, at Jack and Jill Grocery, Severson's Super Value, and Farmers Union Oil Hardware until her retirement.
She cherished when neighbors, friends and family would visit, play cards and of course, there was always lunch. Thursday was always "hair-do day" as she was always very particular about her appearance and a good reason to visit uptown afterwards with friends. They enjoyed Saturday drives to area towns and always stopped to enjoy a hamburger and a beer. Throughout her life, she was an avid Sunday football fan.
Millie is survived by her husband Robert, daughter, Sheila (Becky), & four furry grand-dogs, Valley City, ND, her sister, Evelyn Canton, Mesa, AZ, brother-in-law, Marvin Borgerson (Annette), and several nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anne (Overby) Hagle, brothers Melvin, George, Alfred, Harold and Floyd. Sisters, Florence, Flora, Annette. Nephew, Daryl Hagle.
