NADINE P. ESLINGER

Nadine Paulette (Pratt) Eslinger was born to Bernice (Langford) and Floyd Pratt on September 7, 1946 in Sharon, ND. She grew up on the Pratt farm North of Cooperstown. Nadine married LeRoy Stromsodt on June 16, 1964. They welcomed 3 daughters. Nadine married Robert Kirby on June 28, 1975. They welcomed 1 daughter. Nadine married Alvin Eslinger on July 5, 1982, then 2 step children were added to the family. Alvin passed away on December 31, 2019.

Nadine worked as a CNA most of her adult life, 50+ years. She loved being a CNA and being active in her community. She loved taking in all the events offered; bible study, legion auxiliary, sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, kids programs, etc... She also loved to travel, and frequently took trips with family and friends, always living life to the fullest.

After Alvin’s death she stayed on the farm in rural Hannaford until entering the Cooperstown Care Center on October 10, 2024. Nadine absolutely loved life in the Care Center. The facility and staff gave her such joy. We cannot even put into words the importance of them. They became her extended family and we are grateful for the love that was exchanged both ways.

Life Changed for all of us on Saturday, April 25, 2026 when a fun weekend turned tragic. A fall turned into a brain bleed that she was not going to recover from. Family stayed by her side as she was blessed with a short window of time to say goodbye and relay what so many people meant to her. She left her earthly body early in the morning on May 1, 2026.

Christina (Trevor) Pikula, Jennifer, Matthew (Amanda) Maertens, Michael (Danielle) Maertens, Michayla (Andrew) Birrenkott, Abbigail(JJ Nies); Daughter, Laurie Knutson (Norm Olson), Glyndon, MN. JoAnna, Leah, Javontae, Michael, Nathan, Tony, Ethan, Lindsey, Henley; Daughter, Rhonda Gaden, Fargo, ND. Brandon, Dalton; Daughter, Dawn Kirby, Fargo, ND. JJ(Hannah), Shayla, Denver, Tyawna; Step-Daughter, Lisa (Greg) Kees, Moorhead, MN. Richard, Michael; Step-Son, Franklin (Denise) Eslinger, Hannaford, ND. Anun, Lydia. 31 Great-Grandchildren(plus awaiting 2). Brother: Les Pratt, two Brother-in-Laws: Bernhart Eslinger and Albert Eslinger, numerous Nieces & Nephews.

Nadine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral Service will Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Faith Lutheran Church, Hannaford, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. Interment will in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND at 2:00 pm.
