PEARL WELDER
Pearl Olson Welder was the youngest of nine children born to Nels Baldwin and Emma (Danielson) Olson. She was born April 13, 1925 on a farm in McCauleyville, MN (near Kent, MN). She attended elementary school in McCauleyville and graduated from high school at Breckenridge, MN.
Pearl worked at J.C. Penny in Wahpeton, ND and later met and married Frank Welder on June 7th, 1947. After a few years, they moved to Larimore, ND and then to Finley, ND in 1952.
Pearl enjoyed bowling and golfing for many years and loved to spend time with her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She was a Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She had numerous adventures with her long-time neighbor and friend, Ann Bremer.
Pearl and Frank spent 18 winters in McAllen, TX where they made many friends from all over the country. In recent years, she liked to do crossword puzzles every day, watch the Minnesota Twins and read. She had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by three children; Paula Moe, Robbinston, ME, Brian (Teresa) Welder, Larimore, ND, and Pam Amundson, Finley, ND; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great - great grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 2006; five brothers, Lionel, Walter, Alve, Leslie and Warren and three sisters Effie, Anne and Harriet.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 -pm in St. Olaf Catholic Church, Finley, ND. Visitation will resume Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 am in the Church. Interment will be in the Finley Cemetery, Finley, ND.
