RAHLF W. BEAR

Rahlf William Bear, 75, Kensal, ND, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Sanford West Campus.   

Rahlf, beloved son of Robert and Kathleen Bear, was born March 25, 1949 at his grandparents' rural farm home near Binford, ND. He was delivered by the pastor's wife after the family had attended church, not knowing Rahlf was arriving that day!

Rahlf graduated from Glenfield-Sutton High School and soon after was drafted into the United States Army and sent to Vietnam. He was proud to serve his country.

Rahlf was our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a quiet man, but felt responsible for and loved his family very much. His best times were spent with his great-grandchildren Myles and Motley; camping at Lake Ashtabula with all his family; and working with his brothers on the family farm. He was quiet, but would happily argue his point of view, right or wrong, with his brothers or any one else. 

Rahlf was preceded in death by his dad, Robert Bear, and dogs Preacher, Brandy and Buster.  

He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Bear; Sons Cricket and Lucas (Harmony) Bear; Granddaughters Kelsey (Jordan)  Skytland and Adrienne  Bear, Grandsons Tobin Bear and Gabe (Arianna) Bear; and great grandchildren Myles and Motley Skytland.  Also by brothers Robert (Kay) Bear, James (Joann) Bear and Matthew (Denice) Bear and sisters Ramona (Bob) Vageline, Kathy (Myron) Kunze and Virginia Bear. As well as numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Jake. 

We are blessed to have had Rahlf in our lives, loved him so much, and will miss him dearly. 

He was a good man.

Memorial Service will be Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:00 am in Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND, visitation will be one hour before.
