TRUMAN HANSON

Truman Ardahl Hanson, 84, of Finley, ND, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10., 2022 at Griggs County Care Center. 

Truman was born on Aug. 21, 1938 in Mayville, ND, to Arvid and Vivian (Wilson) Hanson.  He graduated from Finley Public School.  Truman and Connie (Aasen) were married in March of 1957.  He lived in Finley his whole life.  He was the manager of the ASCS office in Finley, ND for 36 years.  He also worked for the bowling alley and farmed.

He was a member of the Assembly of God church and was a Sunday School treasurer for 50 years.  He was on the City Council for 9 years, firemen for 19 years, member of Community Club and Cemetery committee board.  He headed up the-all class reunion in Finley for the Centennial in 1997 and a Cub Scout leader.  When he was on City Council, he was instrumental with others working on base houses for flood victims of Grand Forks.

He is the father of 5 children and was very proud to pay for all five of their college degrees.  They also fostered one child.  His hobbies were hunting with his family, bowling, and snowmobiling.  If he had a John Deere wheel in his hand, he was happy. 

Truman is survived by his wife, Connie and 5 children: Kimberlie (Chris) Heinz, Todd (friend Mary) Hanson, Tamra (Wayne) Wood, Michael Hanson, Jodi (Luke) Carlson.  His 13 grandchildren were his pride and joy:  Sommer (Jim) Julsrud, Tyson Sieler, Jennifer (Pete) Forward, Valerie (friend Andy) Shaw, Bradley Hanson, Tasha (D.J.) Paulson, Cassidy (Kelan) Goeser, Pete Jacobson, Darian Hanson, Drake Hanson, Xyler Carlson, Kiaza Carlson, Briella Carlson.  He also loved his great grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Oliver Erickson, 2 sisters; Janice Hanson (6 months), Barbara (Hanson) Walswick, brother-in-law, Harley Braunberger, a niece Julie Braunberger, sister-in-law, Marianne (Aasen) Huber and brothers-in-law Kenneth Huber, Floyd Beckstrand and Charles and Luella Aasen.

A Memorial will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10:30 am in the Assembly of God Church, Finley, ND.
