VIOLET ELAINE PALM
July 13, 1947 – April 12, 2026
Violet Elaine Palm, age 78, Grand Forks, ND, passed away April 12, 2026, with loving family at her side, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks, ND, where she had been residing for the last 12 months of her life.
Violet was born to Lawrel and Hilda (Eslinger) Palm, the first of six children, on July 13, 1947, in Hannaford, ND. Violet lived on a farm and attended grades 1-7 in Revere, ND, and then grades 8-12 in Hannaford, ND. She attended and graduated from Valley City State College with her Master’s Degree in Chemistry. She also attended NDSU, Bemidji State University, South Dakota State University, UND, and Minot State University for continuing education. Violet taught 40+ years at the Turtle Mountain Community Middle School in Belcourt, ND. When she retired from teaching, Violet moved back to the farm in Hannaford and later moved to Grand Forks, ND.
Violet is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND, where she enjoyed attending with her mom when she lived in Hannaford. Vi was a lifelong and devoted follower of Jesus Christ and she lived a life guided by faith. With unwavering faith, Vi has now entered into the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
Violet is survived by her brother, Ronald Palm, and sister, Rachel (Bob) Fleur all of Grand Forks, ND, and brother, Roy (Ardis) Palm of rural Hannaford; nieces Tamara Rondestvedt (Stewart Schanzenbach) of Grand Forks, Heidi (Fred) Kingsbury of Mokena, IL, nephews Travis (Kelly) Palm of Cooperstown, ND, and Brandon Palm of Hannaford; great nephew Grayson Palm and great niece Hayden Palm of Hannaford, great nieces Madison (Tucker) Eli, Chloe Vincent, Macy Vincent, Joslynne Vincent all of Cooperstown, and great-great nephew Bailey Eli of Cooperstown; honorary “adopted” family Clarence and Gloria Davis; grandchildren Julia Davis and Geoffry Brien, Chugger and Summer Davis, Gia Davis and Charles LaRocque, and Jackson Davis; great-grandchildren Aubree Fox, Asher Brien, Mannex, Quil, Giana, and Jezza Davis, all of Belcourt, ND.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents Lawrel and Hilda Palm, her brother Rodney Palm and her sister Lorna Rondestvedt, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 27, at 11:00am at Zion Lutheran Church, 101 10th St SE, Cooperstown, ND 58425. Lunch will be served afterwards and then burial at Hannaford Cemetery.
