Vivian Wuflestad, 88, Fargo, formerly of Cooperstown, ND died Saturday, September 24 at SMP Health St. Catherine’s South in Fargo.
Vivian Kopperud was born on September 3, 1934 in Cooperstown, ND to Oscar and Ellen (Johnson) Kopperud. She graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1952. On December 16, 1958 she married Monroe Wuflestad at Bethlehem Evangelical Free Church in Cooperstown. They farmed and raised their children on the family farm near Cooperstown until Monroe passed away in 1988. Vivian moved to Cooperstown where she worked as a bank teller at Community First Bank. In 2014, she moved to Fargo, where she resided until her death.
Vivian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, baking her famous kringla, and giving her time to help others. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life. Though Parkinson’s disease changed the quality of her life, Vivian’s strength and perseverance was apparent until her passing.
Vivian is survived by her children Marsha (Todd) Weber, Wheatland, ND and their children Haley (Isaac) Schaller and Griffin Weber; Kent (Tina) Wuflestad, Spring Hill, TN and their sons Aaron and Joshua Wuflestad; and Lee (Holly) Wuflestad, Nisswa, MN and their children Ellen, Laura, and Simon Wuflestad; her son-in-law Steve (Lyn) Olafson, Dickinson, ND and children Michael (Jess) and Katie Olafson; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Gladys Ostenson; sisters-in-law Helen Wuflestad, Mary Lou Ueland, and Dorothy (Charles) Albright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Monroe, her daughter Jane Olafson, brothers Ernie and Robert Kopperud, and sisters Edna Wojcik, Ann Willis, and Arlene Sorvik.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Saron Evangelical Free Church, rural Cooperstown, ND. Burial will be at Saron Cemetery immediately following the service.
