AGNES JOHNSON Agnes Johnson 84, Cooperstown, ND died Monday May 7th, 2012 at the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. Agnes Knutson was born October 1, 1927 to Krist and Dina (Edsvog) Knutson in Dazey, ND. After high school she attended Valley City State Teachers College. Receiving her teaching certificate she taught in several country schools. On June 10, 1951 she married the love of life Edwin Johnson in the Faith Lutheran Church in Hannaford, ND. The couple farmed, raised beef cattle and sheep south of Cooperstown. Edwin passed away June 1, 2002. Agnes continued to make her home on the farm until she became a resident of the Griggs County Care Center. Agnes was a sweet soul and her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her kitchen was always open for a meal, dessert or just a cup of coffee. Agnes is survived by three sons; Neal (Julie) and Nolan (Connie), Cooperstown; Jeffrey (Jan), Jamestown, ND; daughter –in-law Lori (Murray) Stokka: grandchildren, Andrew (Jessica) Johnson, Cooperstown, ND, Heather Johnson, Jamestown, ND, Laura (Kory) Gilbertson and Paige Johnson, Fargo, ND; two great grandchildren; Avery and Adriana Johnson, Cooperstown, ND; one sister Carrie McDonald, Raymond, WA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edwin; son Bjarne; grandson Jared Johnson; ten brothers Helmer, Daniel, Henry, Olaf, Hans, David, Carl, Otto, Johnny, Robert and one sister Christine Cook. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Zion Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Friday, May 11, 2012 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Friday at 7:00 in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Wesley Cemetery, rural Cooperstown, ND.
